Ged & Sally :: You + We Session :: London, England Ged & Sally :: You + We Session :: London, England Mar 22nd | Ross Tanner HIDE POST

I had a hectic last day in London, in the morning I lost hours on Oxford Street getting bits and pieces before leaving, especially as it was Lesya's Birthday on the 18th. After lunch I went down to Ashford to see my dad. It was the first time since my wedding just over a year prior, so it was great. When I got back up to London I met Leon after work and grabbed a coffee and then went to meet Ged and Sally a Leicester Square. It was definately a busy but rewarding day, and Ged and Sally where the icing on the cake. They where awesome, Ged also works with my brother, and Sally is an incredible musician (watch out for her new site).

it's always great to meet new couples, especially when they are so easy to work with, it really helped. As I had been travelling since early morning, instead of carrying all my equipment around, i risked it with my 5d and 85 and 2 spare cards and 1 battery. It was the first time I have ever went to a shoot with just the basics, so thanks to Ben for pushing me to try it!

London is great at night, so many colors, but it can also be really tricky but the results where worth pushing my camera to its limits. hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.

Its always interesting to just have a couple doing their own thing and watching how people just continue to walk by, doing their own thing...

Waterloo Station:

You guys rocked! thanks again!

Josh & Steph :: You+We Session :: London, England Josh & Steph :: You+We Session :: London, England Mar 22nd | Ross Tanner HIDE POST

After Floshops, I had a few days in London, which led to this awesome shoot with Josh and Steph. Josh has the privilege to work with my big brother, Leon from previous posts! :)

We both met up at Costa (the british starbucks) at Waterloo station in South bank London, and then just started walking! The awesome thing about London is that you can simply just start anywhere and justtake photos, every corner, every street has something unique and grabs your attention to shoot.

I tried to insert several new tips from the workshop I had attended to mix up how I normally shoot, it was slightly different as I usually interact with my clients much more, but Steph and Josh made up for that anywats so hard to be attentive when theres so much ahppening around you in London, you just want to run and try so many different things, to shoot through things, use reflections, items for space fillers - everything I could fit my fat 85mm around.

Josh and Steph really where both an amazing couple, I loved working with them, and they were so kind to treating me to a wickedly good beef kebab in by far the best outside food market I have been to. Thanks again guys, hope you enjoy the photos.

getting brownies...

Thanks again guys for the great time!

Ross.

Long awaited Post | Floshops and London Long awaited Post | Floshops and London Mar 22nd | You + We HIDE POST

3 weeks ago I (Ross) left to London. It was the first time in nearly 2 years since I'd been back home, honestly it felt a little weird, but also good at the same time. Whilst in the UK I was able to meet my family which I missed alot, and attend by far the best workshop I have been to called Floshops. Between Ben Chrisman, Jason Groupp, DQ Studios, David Pullum and the attendees, the workshop was just a huge buzz of energy and I LOVED it! Here are just a few video clips from the 4 days of the workshop, thanks to Jason and Lindsey for putting these together!

First Day after collecting the gang from Heathrow and going through Leicester Square and the center of London!

Day 2 of the workshop:

Day 3 of the workshop - This day was special for me, because it was my first time giving a presentation at a workshop anywhere. I focused upon what a brand is, and how to accomplish it - speaking of which, youpluswe is due for an update :)

Day 4 - the final day, and it rocked!

Jason and Lindsey loved their video camera so much, that they even went to the extent to make a final summary of the workshop! once again guys, thanks for helping bring this thing together and being an inspiration.

After everyone left from the workshop, I had a few more days in London with family and also a few awesome photoshoots with 2 couples which I will post this week, and an Indian wedding with Anil Tohani (his work rocks!).

Here are the previews for Josh & Steph and Ged & Sally.

Thanks for reading :) There is lot's more to come as well as some cool new products for our clients, as well as a brand new special something :)

It's always interesting and fun to meet new people. This weekend I had possibility to meet Paul and Anya, a beautiful and extraordinary couple and take their engagement pictures. I am also looking forward to take pictures on their wedding day which will be in couple of months.

London : day 2 to Floshops London : day 2 to Floshops Mar 06th | You + We HIDE POST

Today was another great day, after getting plans ready for Floshops, and working with clients for Flosites, and meeting 2 uber talented photographers "Ken Mckay and Neil Genower", I had another great opportunity to go into the center of London, but this time to the south bank to take photos with Leon. This time we started at Covent Garden, St. Paul's Cathedral and then made our way towards the tower of London, before returning home again.

Be warned, lots of photos! :) St. Paul's Cathedral

taken with the 17-40 L wide angle.

I couldn't help but take a photo of the ornament in this window, it was really cool.

Milennium Bridge: If you look closely on the right photo, you may be able to see a plane in the sky!

We always seem to bump into other photography enthusiasts :)

On the way to Tower Bridge...

On the way, we found this really wicked blue lit tunnel:

Tower Bridge:

Abstract Buildings:

On the way home...

Finally... i thought this tunnel was cool, there were several however this one just caught my attention, every street in this area are just orange lit, and it really gives us a great rich tone.

Hope you enjoyed the long post of images!

Ross.

London : day 1 to Floshops London : day 1 to Floshops Mar 06th | You + We HIDE POST

Day 1 of the London Floshops experience, whilst I came a few days earlier to plan for the workshop, I have a few days to spend with my brother here which is awesome, after not seeing him for nearly 2 years since our wedding. I can say that its great to see London again, it truly lives up to its reputation as an inspirational city, one of all types of people, cultures, yummy food and especially exciting places luring everywhere to photograph.

Yesterday after work, I went in to Leicester Square to meet my brother to go explore the most popular sightseeing places in London at night - namely Westminister, and the London Eye. It was an awesome 2 hours, We used a canon 40d with a 24-70 L, and 70-200 L f2.8 lense, and a canon 5d, with a 85 1.2 lense. I can say though that there is a huge difference between the 2 classes of lenses, whilst every lense has its sweet and benefit spots, the 85 excelled at night, even though its a slow lense.

Here are the photos, I hope you enjoy them as much as we did taking them!

To Start, a photo of each of me and Leon, my brother.

Leicester square& Trafalgar Square:

See the resemblence? :)

On the way to the embarkment and Westminister:

When you got to Westmnister, thats where you start to see all the tourists with all of their cameras and on tripods!, camera phones, camcorders.

Why London is a place for Artists, and they even called the 5d a "magic camera" :)

Looking towards St Pauls Cathedral:

Sadly we ran out of time to explore more, so we had to get back to to meet Leon's beautiful Girlfriend - Su, here's a quick photo I took of them:

More to come soon.... :)
